Hello and welcome to our humble little site. We thank everyone who has submitted – you’ve helped us start us off with a bang!
To start us off, John Michael Greer has an excellent article about learning, in particular here, the learning of magic. From A Magical Education: “There’s a common bad habit of thinking that the way to learn magic is to get hold of secret teachings nobody else has. I call this the Yoda Fallacy.”
Jason Pitzl-Waters at Wild Hunt, always keeping up with current Pagan topics, also likes to share his insights, “The fact that a former firebrand such as Graham seems so ‘moderate’ today speaks to the ongoing breakdown of civility and dialog in our culture.”
Over at The Gods Are Bored, Anne Johnson decides to invite over a deity, who is small, yet fierce:
Anne: Welcome, blessed Fintan, holder of all the knowledge in the universe!
Fintan: I wish you had told me you live up the street from a fish market, Anne. A customer tried to grab me. I had to eat his BlackBerry and cough it out without the memory chip.
Bernulf, at A Heathen Blog, gives an in depth look at some fundamentals of Heathenry: “I’m sure there are some who feel like memorizing the Nine Noble Virtues…is all it takes to be a good Heathen - such people are making a serious mistake….”
And lastly, as a helpful tips for other pagan parents, Rebecca Romero discusses how you can use the classics, and we mean Classics [Does anyone consider The Peloponnesian War “light” reading?] to tame a kiddo at dinner:
[Each] delegate representing the Parental League was given the opportunity to express their views. The first to speak was Daddy, son of Grandma, a just and righteous man. His speech was as follows:
…Green beans are unpleasant, this I know, but if you look into your self, and summon the courage and fortitude to finish them off completely, so shall you find the three-fold happiness of justice, honor, and those Finding Nemo gummi snacks you so crave.
From the editors: Do you have a post sitting on your blog that you know you’d like to get out to a Pagan audience? A post that makes you tingle with pride no matter what the content? Then send it our way and let us help you get a bigger audience!
If you have don’t have a blog, please send it our way anyhow. We take e-mail submissions as well. And also, give us feedback - tell us what’s wrong with our site, what you might like to see, and um, if we have typos…Well, we’ll be sure to get on that, too. Quickly.
